NEW CFI grant for community and collaborative journalism

CFI has just launched two subgrant opportunities under the AGILE project, supporting community and collaborative journalism. 

🔹 Grant 1 - Community Journalism Projects: https://ac.cfi.fr/en/ads/call-for-proposals-agile-community-journalism-projects/

• Up to €15,000 per project
• For registered organisations (incl. individual companies) based in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uganda, or Uzbekistan
• At least one team member must have completed an AGILE Community Journalism Training
• Focus: local community stories, marginalised groups, access to information, human rights
• Deadlines: 30 August 2026 (Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan) | 15 November 2026 (Uganda) | 28 February 2027 (Kazakhstan) 

🔹 Grant 2 - Collaborative Reporting Initiatives: https://ac.cfi.fr/en/ads/call-for-proposals-agile-collaborative-reporting-initiatives/

• Up to €13,000 per project
• For partnerships (journalist/media outlet + civil society organisation/community representative) based in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, or DRC
• Focus: human rights, freedom of expression, access to information, governance
• Deadline: 30 August 2026 (all countries)

NOTE: Applicants can only apply to one of the two grants, not both.
