Service providers key to high-performance, secure plants in Chile

With over 100MW of plants now at advanced stages of development, companies are contracting for the logistics and services needed to ensure secure and profitable plant performance in Chile.

Solar developers need to design plants with comprehensive security systems due to the remote locations of plants. What’s more they are hard to physically monitor as they have large perimeters. Plants can be attractive to thieves due to presence of advanced systems, computers as well as the large amounts of steel and aluminium available from racking.  It is not just security monitoring that is needed but also performance monitoring. Globally, monitoring is increasingly important as plants enter the later stages of their lifetimes and it is crucial to maintain the performance ratios projected.
