Eat4Change” produced a teachers’ guide with lessons on Mobilising Youth for Sustainable Diets. In 2020, a workshop for 14 to 15 year olds in Greece inspired five students to launch a mini food movement in their school.

These “Eat4Change ambassadors” ran a sustainable food campaign, workshops, and a poster competition following the DEAR project’s guide. They mobilised their parents and grandparents to change their diets and cook plant-based meals. Together, they created a sustainable food cookbook with accompanying videos. The Eat4Change ambassadors also produced a short promotional video and launched a dedicated instagram account, posting useful food facts and attractive vegan/vegetarian recipes.

The real-life, peer-to-peer, and learner-centred approach was particularly effective. The motivated teachers disseminated the “Eat4Change” guide with other schools, who have also joined the student movement for sustainable diets.
