TED Training Modules Announced
News details
Amid global democratic backsliding and reduced funding from traditional donors, European democracy support faces growing complexity. In response, the Team Europe Democracy (TED) Training Programme aims to equip professionals across the European ecosystem with practical tools and peer-driven learning to enhance strategic coherence and operational coordination. Drawing on the expertise of TED members and the work of its three thematic groups—Rule of Law and Accountability, Civic Participation, and Media and Digital—the programme seeks to foster a shared, adaptable vision for democracy support.
Within that framework, TED has initiated a needs assessment. The methodology for the assessment combined three core elements: an online survey circulated among TED focal points, interviews with key informants, and a structured inventory of available training offers, available here: Team Europe Democracy Training Inventory | Capacity4dev.
The modules are intended for practitioners from Member States, European institutions, international organisations, and other TED members, depending on the topics offered.
The upcoming TED training modules are:
• Building Democratic Resilience
• Mainstreaming Democratic Governance
• Innovations in Democracy Support
• Supporting Democracy through the Global Gateway
The programme consists of four thematic modules, each containing:
• 30-minute micro-session: Self-paced introduction with expert insights
• 1-hour case study session: Real-world examples presented by practitioners who led the initiatives
• 90-minute practical workshop: Hands-on exercises applying concepts to current challenges
The first module will be held in November 2025. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact: secretariat@teamdemocracy.eu
