This event will be jointly organized by the Government of the Republic of Vanuatu and the Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA) in Collaboration with Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) and the Pacific Island Private Sector Organization (PIPSO). The overall objective of this conference is to promote sustainable use of local food by the tourism industry through stregthened intersectoral policies. Overmore it will: - Promote linkages between the agrifood sector and the tourism industry to increase sustainable sourcing through an agritourism policy in Vanuatu; - Increase the understanding and awareness of the current deficiencies in the supply of produce along the value chain and the actions needed; -Help to design inter-sectoral and inclusive policies which promote Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) for improved local food use and consumption. The participants will be Government Officials from Agriculture, Trade, Health and Tourism Ministries, Private Sector, Chefs and Actors from the hospitality sector, Civil Society and Academia. International and Regional partners will share their experience.
