Agronomist, specialised in Agricultural Economics, holding a BSc in Agricultural Economics, a MSc in the Integrated Development and Management of Rural Areas and a MSc in Agricultural Engineering. As a Senior Expert I present overall experience of 17 years in policy analysis and evaluation of projects funded from international donors in the EU and Africa. I have considerable knowledge of the Common Agricultural Policy, having participated in policy implementation, monitoring and evaluation at national and European level.
During this experience I have gained experience in Project Cycle Management, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of projects using the EC guidelines, interacting with stakeholders across agrofood value chains, organising field trips in Africa, and running interviews and focus groups with the use of participatory approaches (world café, open space, circle).
I currently participate as a Senior Expert in evaluation studies, while I assess grant proposals in the tourism and agrofood sectors on behalf of the Ministry of Economy in Greece. In addition I deliver an education course on ‘Policy Design and Evaluation’ at the MSc Farm Business Management and Advisory Services for Rural Development of the Agricultural University of Athens.
My most recent experiences of interest include: Economic and social assessment of green economy activities at Virunga – Queen Elizabeth (DRC - Uganda) and Northern Rangelands (Kenya) protected areas (DG INTPA), Consultancy Services to Develop and Implement Cabo Verde’s Energy Information Management System (LUXDEV), Annual Evaluation Report 2017 for the Rural Development Programme of Cyprus; Personalized Public Services in support of the implementation of the Common Agricultural Policy (H2020 research project), Synthesis of 'ex ante' evaluations of rural development programmes 2014-2020 (EC); Ex-post Evaluation of the Rural Development Programmes 2000-2006 (EC); Evaluation of Preferential Agricultural Trade Regimes, in particular Economic Partnership Agreements (EC); Drafting of guidelines regarding the NRN self-assessment in Greece.
In addition I have supported several facilities, such as the Switch to Green Facility (DG INTPA), the Support Facility for Broadband Competence Offices (DG AGRI), the Assistance Mechanism for the Atlantic Action Plan (DG MARE), the National Rural Network in Greece and the Supply Chain Network in Greece.
I have implemented missions in Belgium, Netherlands, France, Greece, Cyprus and Africa (Mozambique, Cabo Verde, Kenya) and I am fluent in Greek and English.
