AFAC's call is open to project applications from all Arab individuals working in the cultural and artistic fields. AFAC also accepts proposals from local, regional and international institutions whose projects are related to Arab culture, including NGO's, cultural /educational institutions and centers and organizations, governmental and non-governmental, concerned with culture and the arts.

Projects may be implemented anywhere as long as they are created by Arab artists or – as in the case of non-Arab institutions - relevant to the Arab region. The project’s time frame should not exceed 24 months.

AFAC's maximum grant amount is 50,000 USD.

For the Performing Arts category, AFAC offers funding for development and production of theatre, dance and other forms of performing arts.

AFAC offers funding for production and organization of art exhibitions, installations, and other forms of visual arts for the Visual Arts category.

An applicant is free to submit grant requests to more than one category - for example, performing arts and visual arts – but only one grant (if any) will be awarded.

Applications for the general call for proposals in the categories of Visual Arts and  Performing Arts can be submitted in Arabic or English.

Deadline for applications is May 1, 2015

The Arab Fund for Arts and Culture was established in 2007 by local cultural lobbyists as an independent initiative that funds individuals and organizations in the fields of cinema, performing arts, literature, music and visual arts while facilitating cultural exchange, research and cooperation across the Arab world and globally.
