- Introduction to international and EU policy frameworks on gender equality (GAP III) and Women, Peace and Security (WPS) as well as on conflict sensitivity, conflict prevention and peacebuilding.
- Outline the relevance of and linkages between gender equality and conflict, security and peacebuilding including analyse gender as a system of power and differentiate between gender norms, roles and identities and how this is relevant to conflict sensitivity and conflict analysis.
- Key challenges related to gender mainstreaming in fragile and conflict affected situations, particularly in relation to programming, related requirements to conflict sensitivity and effective gender-responsive leadership.
