The EU SWITCH TO GREEN initiative

29 September 2016 - EU SWITCH TO GREEN partners met in Brussels to discuss synergies and exchange best practices on supporting the development of green economy across different regions.The EU SWITCH TO GREEN Flagship Programme of the European Commission, promotes a green economy that generates growth, creates jobs and helps reduce poverty in developing countries. SWITCH Regional Programmes for instance support dialogue on policies and financial instruments needed to finance the SWITCH to green Small and Medium Enterprises leading the way for sustainable development. UN Environment is an implementing partner, included in the regional programmes SWITCH Asia, SWITCH Med and SWITCH Africa Green. 

The EU SWITCH TO GREEN initiative was further presented to a wider audience at an EC Infopoint meeting of EuropeAid. UN Environment's speaker Asad Naqvi presented the Partnership for Action on Green Economy as one of the initiatives supported by the European Commission and other partners to promote sustainable consumption and production while Thibault Portevin introduced the SWITCH TO GREEN programme.
