Evaluation of EU Support for Research & Innovation for Development
Discussion details
Research & Innovation is a major theme of DEVCO’s work, yet one that is “hidden, not recognised and poorly understood”. This is the starting point of the newly-published Evaluation of EU Support to Research and Innovation for Development in Partner Countries. It identifies the R&I elements in €1 billion worth of projects in the fields of food security, nutrition and agriculture, health, environment and climate change, and science and technology, and outlines the strategic approach needed for R&I to become an engine for growth.
Capacity4dev spoke to experts James Mackie and Paul Engel from ECDPM and to Androulla Kaminara, head of DEVCO’s Task Force on Knowledge, Performance and Results, about the report’s findings and how the European Commission can build on them.
You can access the full report here.
The findings will be presented at the European Development Days on 15 June; for more information about the session visit eudevdays.eu.
