The MOOC on Memory Sites and Human Rights focuses on the role of memory sites in their crucial interplay with historical trauma, the reconciliation process, the chosen methods for dealing with the past, as well as with nation building dynamics and the shaping of societal identity. The course is led by a team of Global Campus of Human Rights Professors from the Regional Programmes in South-East Europe and Latin America and the Caribbean, joined by an international faculty of academics, experts and practitioners including, among others: Nora Cortiñas, President of Madres de Plaza de Mayo, Línea Fundadora, Argentina; Tarik Samarah, author of “Srebrenica – genocide in the heart of Europe”, Bosnia and Herzegovina; and Albie Sachs, former Judge of the Constitutional Court, South Africa.
