Gender Concerns in Projects Financed by the ACP-EU Energy Facility

This Thematic Fiche provides guidance on how to integrate gender issues in projects financed by the ACP-EU Energy Facility.

It was written on the basis of a questionnaire which was distributed to the ACP-EU Energy Facility I projects in the summer of 2012. A total of 27 projects responded and provided their experiences and reflections on the inclusion of gender as a cross-cutting issue in energy projects. While gender issues might not be relevant to all large-scale energy projects, many projects could benefit from a gender sensitive implementation which can improve the long-term project sustainability.
