Discussion details

Dear colleagues,

In the past period, there were several important international GRB events:

  • Korean Women Development Institute (South Korea) organized conference on “Gender budgeting and gender equality: an international comparison” inviting several European and Australian experts. The focus was on different approaches to working with GRB and how to proceed in Korea.
  • The recent IMF and UN Women conference in Kigali for all countries within sub-Saharan Africa gathered almost 500 participants. The focus was on ”Gender Equality from theory to practice”. GRB was specifically defined as the most important method to deliver gender equality.
  • In addition, UN Women is supporting a course at Centre of Excellence in Finance in Ljubljana (https://www.cef-see.org/2017-program-budgeting). It is an online course on Program and Performance Budgeting with GRB integrated (taking place in November 2017).
  • The book on Gender Responsive Budgeting in Europe, Developments and Progress (editors: Angela O’Hagan and Elisabeth Klatzer) compiling different research papers on GRB is in final stage of preparation is going to be published in early 2018.
