UNESCO is fully engaged in the European Year for Development 2015 (EYD 2015). During February, the EYD focus will be on education in development. The UNESCO Liaison Office has collected human-centered stories which showcase UNESCO’s successful programmes in the field of education.

Jordan - A Shelter in a Teacher’s Heart

Laila is a teacher at a public high school in Jordan. She was trained within the EU-funded UNESCO programme ‘Sustaining Quality Education and Promoting Skills Development for Young Syrian Refugees in Jordan’. Raneem is a Syrian refugee and was one of Laila’s students. Laila tells us her story about Raneem.
