La créativité et le développement durable au programme du troisième Forum Mondial de l’UNESCO sur la culture et les industries culturelles

            Paris, 15 septembre – La troisième édition du Forum mondial de l’UNESCO sur la culture et les industries culturelles (FOCUS) se tiendra du 2 au 4 octobre à Florence (Italie). Près de 300 représentants des secteurs public et privé du monde culturel prendront part à cet événement qui s’intéressera au le rôle de la culture comme moteur de développement.

Co-organisé par l’UNESCO, le gouvernement italien, la région Toscane et la mairie de Florence, le Forum sera inauguré le 2 octobre à 14h00 par la Directrice générale de l’UNESCO, Irina Bokova ; le maire de Florence, Dario Nardella ; le président de la région Toscane, Enrico Rossi et le ministre italien des biens et activités culturelles, Dario Franceschini. Intitulé « Culture, créativité et développement durable. Recherche, innovation, opportunités », le Forum analysera le rôle que peut jouer la culture pour façonner un avenir durable en stimulant l’emploi, la croissance et l’innovation.

Le Forum s’articulera autour de deux séances plénières et de six panels thématiques : « Culture et créativité : un double engagement vers le futur » ; « Industries culturelles, emploi et croissance », « Nourrir la culture pour le développement durable des zones urbaines et rurales » ; « Innovation, technologie et savoir-faire pour des avenirs durables » ; « Nouvelles approches pour mesurer le changement » ; « Investir dans la culture » et « Culture et agenda de développement post-2015 ».

A l’issue des débats, les participants adopteront la « Déclaration de Florence », qui proposera des moyens efficaces d’intégrer la culture dans l’agenda de développement post-2015 qui sera débattue l’année prochaine à l’Assemblée générale des Nations Unies.

            En marge du Forum, une table ronde (3 octobre, 17h-18h) présentera plusieurs projets récents de sauvegarde du patrimoine culturel menés par l’UNESCO en Afghanistan, au Myanmar, en Jordanie et au Mali, financés par la coopération italienne. Participeront à ce débat les ministres et hauts représentants de la Culture des pays bénéficiaires, les représentants du ministère italien des Affaires étrangères et les experts ayant coopéré avec l’UNESCO pour la mise en oeuvre de ces projets.

            Enfin, une exposition photographique illustrera les 50 ans de coopération UNESCO-Italie pour le patrimoine culturel afghan. Elle sera inaugurée le 2 octobre à 18h.

            Les deux éditions précédentes du Forum Mondial de l’UNESCO sur la culture et les industries culturelles ont eu lieu à Monza (Italie) en 2009 et 2011.

Culture, Creativity and Sustainable Development as part of the program of the Third UNESCO World Forum on Culture and Cultural Industries

            Paris, 15 September – The third edition of the UNESCO World Forum on Culture and Cultural Industries (FOCUS) will take place from 2 to 4 October in Florence (Italy). Almost 300 representatives from cultural domains of the public and private sectors will participate..

The Forum, jointly organized by UNESCO, the Italian government, the Tuscany region and the Municipality of Florence, will be inaugurated on the 2 October (2 p.m.) by UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova, Mayor of Florence Dario Nardella, President of the Tuscany region Enrico Rossi and the Italian Minister of Heritage and Cultural Activities Dario Franceschini.

The Forum is devoted to the theme “Culture, Creativity and Sustainable Development. Research, Innovation, Opportunities”, and will address the role of culture in creating a sustainable future, as well as promoting employment, growth and innovations. It will be divided into two plenary sessions and six panels: “Culture and Creativity: a Dual Commitment to the Future”, “Cultural Industries, Employment and Growth”, “Innovation, Technology and Know-How for Sustainable Futures”, “The Power of Culture for Inclusive Societies”, “New Approaches to Measuring Change”, “Investing in Culture”, “Culture and the Post-2015 Development Agenda” and “Nurturing Culture for the Sustainable Development of Urban and Rural Areas”.

The event will conclude with the adoption of the “Florence Declaration”, presenting proposals on the integration of culture in the Post-2015 Development Agenda, which will be discussed by the United Nations General Assembly the following year. 

A Round Table on “Safeguarding Cultural Heritage for Sustainable Development and Peace Building: Success Stories of Italy-UNESCO Cooperation”, which is funded by the Italian side, will be held on the margins of the Forum (3 October, 5-6 p.m.). Several recent projects on safeguarding UNESCO World Heritage in Afghanistan, Myanmar, Jordan and Mali will be discussed by the participants, who include Ministers and senior representatives of cultural sectors of recipient countries, representatives of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and UNESCO experts.

Finally, a photo exhibition showing the 50 years of cooperation between UNESCO and Italy on Afghan cultural heritage will be inaugurated on 2 October (6 p.m.).

             The two previous editions of the UNESCO World Forum on Culture and Cultural Industries were held in Monza (Italy) in 2009 and 2011.
