New publication released on legal compliance in cocoa production and trade
Discussion details
We are pleased to present our latest Cocoa Insight: Demonstrating legal compliance of cocoa production and trade under the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).
This Insight offers considerations for demonstrating compliance in key areas such as land-use rights, environmental requirements, third parties’ rights, labour rights, human rights, free, prior and informed consent, and anti-corruption measures. Additionally, it outlines potential steps for stakeholders to contribute to an enabling environment for compliance with the EUDR legality criteria, in particular within West and Central Africa’s cocoa supply chain.
This publication can provide food for thought for cocoa operators, stakeholders, and policymakers, fostering sustainable and legally compliant practices in the cocoa industry.
