“Even though a lot of people have been taken out of extreme poverty, inequality is increasing. And I think the private sector needs to play a role here. I think private sector in the way of job creation, but also in a way of making sure that we think about how we pay taxes, that we pay taxes, and so on is extremely important,” said Stine Bosse, representing the private sector at a European Year for Development Stakeholder event

In the following video interview, she explained to capacity4dev.eu why it’s important for the private sector to support development and how they can engage in the European Year for Development.

Looking forward to the Sustainable Development Goals, Ms Bosse hopes that quality in education will be addressed. “I think we’ve come a long way now with getting nearly all the children of the world into schools and education. But if we really want to make a huge difference there have to be quality measurements also for that education.”
