Created 04 May 2017

The RNSF team is happy to announce that the IESF Group has been selected to participate to the 2017 edition of the European Development Days (EDDs). The EDDs are the major event bringing together the EU development community each year since 2006 to share ideas and experiences about the main global development challenges.
On this occasion, which represents an outstanding opportunity for visibility and exchange, the RNSF will present the book “"Innovative Approaches for more inclusive social protection of Informal Workers" drafted during the RNSF Regional Workshop held in Kenya last February  during a 1-hour Project Lab session taking place on June 8th at Brussels. Its main findings and recommendations will be discussed by a panel of officials of the Europe Commission and participants of the workshop. It will be an opportunity to bring on stage issues, trends and challenges related to social protection from the perspective of the informal economy and to share experiences and knowledge with development researchers and practitioners coming from all around the world.
To introduce the book, here is the 4:13-minute video of Prof. Marius Olivier who took part in the workshop

Marius Olivier is an experienced Social Security and Social Protection Consultant, director of South Africa-based Institute for Social Law and Policy (ISLP). The ISLP provides high-quality interventions in the areas of social law and policy, including labour law and social security system design and improvement.
