The European Commission’s Directorate-General for Development and Cooperation (EuropeAid)

is pleased to announce an Enlarged Stakeholder Meeting on the European Year for Development,

which will take place on 9^th December in Brussels. The event is the next key step following our

last major stakeholder meeting earlier this year.

This event, aimed at all of our stakeholders and partners across the EU, will give us a unique opportunity to come together to discuss our plans for communicating on the European Year for Development. The goal of this event is to share ideas and strategies, network with other EYD stakeholders and collaborate with each other in our planned actions. It is also an opportunity to provide feedback on the assistance offered so far by the European Commission and guide us in our efforts to support your work.

Over the course of the day we will hear about plans from a number of different presenters, including member states, CONCORD, the private sector, representatives from across the European institutions and Media Consulta, who will be offering you support throughout the year. Some of the optional interactive events for the day include:

·‘Speed dating sessions’ to foster synergies between stakeholders

·Training to use the EYD Website

·A practical introduction to the EYD Social Media strategy
