The UNESCO Liaison Office in Brussels is fully engaged in the European Year for Development 2015 (EYD 2015). During February, the thematic focus of the campaign will be on education in development cooperation.UNESCO Brussels has collected people-centered stories which showcase UNESCO’s successful programmes in the field of education, to share on the EYD 2015 online platform.

This weeks story is about the ‘Disaster Risk Reduction through Education and Science in Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru’. It is the story of Rodrigo Cea, who is the Head of the Department of Primary Education at the Faculty of Education of the Universidad de Concepción, Chile. After a major earthquake hit theregion in 2010, he participated in the UNESCO project.
