The event was chaired by Mrs Pia Bucella, Director, Natural Capital Directorate, DG-Environment.

See the welcome speech that was given by Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Janez Potocnik.

Find as well a slides presentation on what is, in fact, B4Life, presented by Arnold Jacques de Dixmude, Environment, Climate Change and Natural Resources Unit, EuropeAid.

Four guest speakers were invited to share views and thoughts on one of the priorities of B4Life, based on their own experiences built through their organisations and/or in programmes that have been or are, among others, supported by the EU.

Mr. Pavan Sukdhev, CEO of GIST, presented the The Economics of Ecosystems and Biodiversity for Agriculture and Food (TEEBAgF) to illustrate the 2nd priority axis of B4Life.

The 1st priority area, governance of natural resources, was illustrated by Mr. Michael Stanley-Jones, from UNEP-UNDP's Poverty-Environment Initiative (PEI)

Then, Mr. David Vivas Eugui, of UNCTAD, presented the BioTrade Initiative as nature-based solution for a green economy, 3rd priority area of B4Life.
