The book Extending coverage: Social protection and the informal economy drafted during the RNSF Regional Workshop held last February in Kenya, involved a mixed group of researchers, regional experts, members of civil society organizations, and public officers.

Anne Hoelscher, senior program officer at World Vision International for the Somalia Resilience Program, took part to the workshop.

World Vision is a global Christian relief, development and advocacy organisation dedicated to working with children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice. As an implementing partner of the RNSF project, it implements a EU-funded program to  contribute to improved livelihoods, enhanced social cohesion and increased protection of people dependent on  the informal economy, in Puntland State of Somalia.

Anne Hölscher is an expert in humanitarian and emergency affairs, specialising in livelihoods and resilience programming in fragile contexts. During the workshop, she highlighted the role of social protection mechanisms in emergncy context, which became a full section of the book (p. 79).
