Registration open until Monday June 1st, 2015
The training addresses all actors engaged in value chain development – government and public administration as well as private companies and SME advisors.
The ValueLinks approach aims to enhance the understanding for value chains and their development as a market-driven structural change of the economy. Hence, the training concentrates on linking the business logic with the development logic in search for opportunities and entry points instead of problems and obstacles. The methodology can be applied to different subsectors, from agriculture and food processing to manufacturing and industries. Participants will experience the value chain approach at different stages of development and in combination with other approaches, e.g. regional development or natural resource management. The International ValueLinks Association e.V. has introduced the standardized visual language, which is used in the training.

MOSA – Modules on Sustainable Agriculture
Linking nutrition and food security to the farming system and the environment
5 days training, from Monday June 29th to Friday July 3rd in Feldafing
Registration open until Monday June 8th, 2015
A large number of studies have revealed that in the course of modernization and technological progress, extension workers, development experts and technical advisors have not been able to advance in terms of a general awareness of sustainable agricultural practices. A general view on the system in which natural resources are transformed into products for human consumption and how these livelihood-systems achieve sustainability and become resilient can be described as deficient.
The training addresses the need of advisers and experts involved in rural development and natural resource management with the intention to better understand agro-pastoral livelihood systems as an integral part of a holistic approach to food and nutritional security.
The training will focus on the following topics:
-
Changing ideas and current concerns about sustainable agricultural development in the context of climatic changes
-
Maintenance of soil fertility and biodiversity in the context of sanitary challenges and plant protection
-
Rural livelihoods, labour conditions and socio-economic requirements
-
Water-economy and water-management
-
Animal husbandry, manure and fodder-production
-
Energy demands and supply systems for energy-efficient agricultural production
Tuition fee for participants registered and financed by GIZ programmes: €1.770,-
All other participants are charged: €2.070,-
Be advised that accommodation, transport and meals are not included in the tuition fee.
The number of participants will be limited to a maximum of 20

Land Management and Land Administration
It’s all about land
4 days training, from Monday July 20 to Thursday 23 in Feldafing
Registration open until Monday June 29th, 2015
The training addresses policy advisors at regional level, staff from regional administration and from ministries as well as other actors involved in land-use planning and resource management.
The seminar aims to introduce policy advisors and experts in rural development and natural resource management to concepts and practices in land administration and governance based on scientific research and practical evidence. On an international level, the past 50 years have provided an enormous wealth of examples and experiences in dealing with property rights, land reform and land registration. It has been understood that unlimited exploitation of natural resources and untransparent acquisition of land leads to conflicts, soil degradation and unsustainable land-use practices. The questions to answer therefore will be:
-
What are the appropriate strategies and systems under the prevailing conditions?
-
What can we learn from evidence and experience in comparable socio-economic environments?
-
What are the major decisions and steps to be taken to ensure sustainable economic growth with due consideration of social wellbeing of a given population and the protection of the environment?
Tuition fee for participants registered and financed by GIZ programmes: €1.460,-
All other participants are charged: €1.700,-
Be advised that accommodation, transport and meals are not included in the tuition fee.
The number of participants will be limited to a maximum of 25
