Training on WRM

On Friday, 25 April 2025, colleagues gathered in Brussels for the Water Resources Management for Global Gateway Actions training. The session offered participants a dynamic and insightful opportunity to deepen their knowledge and enhance their skills in designing EU-supported water management interventions.

The training focused on water resources management as a key enabler of Global Gateway investments, providing a clear overview of EU political priorities, tools, and practical approaches. Participants explored how sustainable water management can drive broader development goals, with a particular focus on the role of decision-makers, financiers, and private sector actors across the water value chain.

One of the highlights of the day was the interactive strategy game Water Reflections, facilitated by colleagues from the Joint Research Centre (JRC). Through this immersive role-playing exercise, participants were challenged to adopt different stakeholder perspectives, sharpen their strategic thinking, and collaborate to tackle water management challenges.

The programme also included presentations of case studies and hands-on exploration of water resources management tools and strategies, ensuring that participants left with actionable insights and practical knowledge.
