Welcome to the Public Group on Water and Sanitation!
The European Union is determined to take action for the global water agenda, following the 2023 UN water Conference the EU has established its commitments for the Water Action Agenda, aiming to accelerate actions for clean water and sanitation for all by 2030.
The EU priorities for Water include:
- access to safe drinking water and sanitation, as a human right
- protecting and restoring aquatic ecosystems for sustainable development, climate mitigation and adaptation
- promoting a more integrated approach to the management of water resources across sectors
- promoting circularity in the use of water for industry, energy and agriculture by increasing water efficiency and water reuse
- developing transboundary water cooperation, as a catalyst for peace and security
- mobilising public and private finance, research and innovation, and knowledge sharing
On this group, you can share articles, events, and documentation on the topic of water and sanitation as well as, your experiences and good practices on the sector in the discussion section. We encourage you to contribute to the group to create an interactive space where resources and information on water and sanitation are available to all.
