Mr. Monga also announced that UNIDO has been given the task of “Greening the COP 22”
to make it a carbon neutral event. This is a Joint Initiative of the Global Environment Facility, the Kingdom of Morocco and UNIDO.

UNIDO has a longstanding relationship with the ACP Secretariat and has been actively supporting ACP countries for over five decades in their efforts for inclusive and sustainable industrialization and private sector development. This cooperative relationship has been sealed in 2011 with a Memorandum of Understanding and a Relationship Agreement, which express the decision to collaborate more closely to develop inclusive, competitive and environmentally friendly industries in ACP countries.
