In response to a comment on this site, below is a list of relevant online resources for lesson-learning and skill-building. While these platforms and videos offer valuable insights, there is a shortfall of materials that relate directly to humanitarian action and innovation. How can this gap be filled in the future?
Websites
- TechChange offers certified online courses around topics related to technology and social change. Pracitioners can enroll from anywhere in the world, connect to other students and instructors via a faciliated learning platform.
- OpenIDEO is an open innovation platform where people from all over the world can connect to work on social challenges together.
Webinars
- Transformation through innovation: Successful scale-up models: the WHS consulations on October 17, 2014 in Eastern and Souther Africa include a discussion that can be viewed via Adobe Connect.
- Humanitarians in the Skye: How UAVs are changing disaster response: a one hour Engineering for Change (E4C) webinar with Patrick Meier.
- Technological innovation and principles in humanitarian action: a 120 minute panel discussion hosted by ICRC from June 24, 2014. The video can be downloaded as an MP3.
- Innovation in the Humanitarian Sector: a one hour webinar by DisasterReady.org in which Chirs Earney and Joel Nielsen (UNHCR) explore innovative approaches to address humanitarian challenges.

- Though not focusing on humanitarian action, the Stanford Social Innovation Review offers a number of resources that provide ideas and insights.
- In the Social Innovation Conversations innovators from different fields offer advice and insights in short audio recordings.

Thank you very much for this compilation courses and resources. I will have a look through them, and see if one of these can meet our needs, -or inspire us to be more concrete on what our needs actually are.

Super to have a starting point, I wonder if anyone has resources to add?
My feeling is there may be an unmet need for those involved in financing for innovation to finetune the skill set to be able to make good judgements on investing in the future.
