From Investment to Skills: Developing Human Capital Along the Lobito Corrido
TEI OP-VET
Event details
Description
We are excited to invite you to our next TEI OP-VET & Friends webinar!
The Lobito Corridor is rapidly emerging as one of Africa's most significant investment corridors, connecting Angola, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Zambia to regional and global markets. Beyond infrastructure and trade, these investments have the potential to create substantial employment opportunities and stimulate local economic development across a range of sectors, including mining, transport, logistics, energy and related services.
But how can countries, training providers and businesses ensure that local populations have the skills needed to benefit from these opportunities? And how can skills development be designed to support investment, competitiveness and inclusive growth from the outset?
Join us on 25 June at 12:00 CEST to explore how an Opportunity-driven VET approach can help connect investment projects with workforce development and local value creation along the Lobito Corridor.
Together, we will discuss:
• The Lobito Corridor and its potential for employment creation and economic transformation
• How the OP-VET approach links skills development to concrete investment opportunities
• Practical experiences from the Lobito Connect project
• The role of the private sector in developing skills, local suppliers and sustainable value chains
• Opportunities for collaboration among businesses, training providers, governments and development partners
The webinar will feature contributions from representatives of the Lobito Corridor ecosystem, including development partners, private sector actors and skills development practitioners.
👉 Register now to join us on 25 June at 12:00 CEST!
We look forward to seeing you there!
