Launch of European Report on Development 2015
DG DEVCO and European Report on Development (ERD)
Event details
Description
On Monday 4 May 2015 the European Commission’s Directorate General for International Cooperation and Development (DG DEVCO) will launch the European Report on Development 2015 (ERD 2015) in central Brussels. The subject of ERD 2105, an independent research report, is ‘Combining Financing and Policies to Implement a Transformative post-2015 Development Agenda’.
During 2015 the European Commission will take an active part in United Nations negotiations on a new sustainable development framework and a climate change agreement for the years to 2030. Financing such a transformative agenda that combines economic, social and environmental goals will require the mobilisation and effective use of all types of financial resources. ERD 2015 contributes to the debate in this area by setting out a new conceptual framework for thinking about development finance and its relationship to policy. ERD 2015 is based on independent research commissioned by DG DEVCO and undertaken by a consortium of international development research institutions.
European Commissioner for International Cooperation and Development Neven Mimica will open the launch event at 3pm. The launch event will include a high-level panel discussion on ERD 2015 outcomes and the post-2015 agenda.
You can register your interest in attending the launch event via the new ERD Report website: http://www.erd-report.eu/
