Objective of the workshop
The workshop aims at supporting EU commission staff in increasing the efficiency of EU cooperation initiatives by “leaving no one behind”. The training will allow for deepening knowledge of the EU's commitments and the policy framework that guide EU work on inequalities, human rights and anti-discrimination (RBA, gender equality, child rights, inclusion of persons with disabilities).
It will also reinforce the use of the rights based approach as a working method to promote inclusiveness and developing the capacity of staff to maximize impact of programmes by mainstreaming gender equality and inclusion of the most marginalized groups such as children and persons with disabilities in EU development programmes.
Participants:
40 staff from EUD and headquarter
Methodology
The training will be delivered using interactive methods making the most of the diversity of participants’ experiences.
After an overview on EU commitments to leave no one behind and a general introduction to the rights based approach (RBA) as a working method, the training will go through the different steps of project cycle management and review ways to enhance mainstreaming and inclusion using the RBA. This work will be based on actual action documents covering a range of sectors.
Focus group will also be proposed every day to exchange on specific issues related to gender equality, child’s rights and inclusion of persons with disabilities.
To conclude the training, a space will be provided for participants to work in small groups for peer support to look at specific issues that participants may face in some of their programmes with regards to mainstreaming and inclusion for which they would like feedback or insight.
We will also provide three slot of 10mn for EUD staff to present interesting practices related to inclusion and mainstreaming in:
-
context analysis and project identification
-
project formulation
-
Monitoring evaluation
Participants willing to share such experience can use the ppt template.
