OECD Forum on Gender Equality: Harnessing the Digital Transformation for All
Event details
Description
The second OECD Forum on Gender Equality, “Harnessing the Digital Transformation for All,” will bring together policymakers, experts, practitioners, and stakeholders to examine how digital transformation can advance gender equality and contribute to more inclusive, resilient, and equitable societies.
Digital technologies, data, and artificial intelligence are reshaping economies and societies. They can expand access to services, strengthen women’s empowerment, support entrepreneurship, and create new opportunities for participation and leadership. However, without deliberate and gender-responsive action, digital transformation can also reinforce existing inequalities, deepen exclusion, and increase exposure to online harms and technology-facilitated gender-based violence.
The Forum will explore how digital and gender-equality strategies can be better aligned through coherent, evidence-based policies. Discussions will address AI-enabled services, the future of the care economy, digital skills and leadership opportunities, women’s entrepreneurship, online safety, gender-based violence in digital spaces, children’s safety online, and restrictive gender norms.
The event will take place at the OECD Conference Centre in Paris and will also be available via livestream.
