Qualification in Digital Global Citizenship Education (GCE)
Eine Welt Netzwerk Thüringen e.V., Germany
Event details
Description
DCYDE! is an educational project that empowers professionals and youth workers to independently implement educational programs on Global Citizenship Education (GCE) and sustainable development.
The project is structured in two stages:
In the first step, you participate in a free training. Afterward, you apply your newly acquired knowledge in your own trainings in Thuringia and additionally develop and deliver DCYDE! educational activities for young people.
The goal of these educational offerings is to help young people acquire the skills they need to understand global interconnections and actively contribute to sustainable development worldwide. To support this, DCYDE! creates digital and hybrid learning communities connecting young people from Europe and the Global South.
In short: global citizenship is not only taught—it is actively experienced.
The project follows the principles of Global Citizenship Education (GCE), Education for Sustainable Development (ESD/BNE), and the 4Cs competencies (creativity, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration). Digital media and online communication are central pedagogical tools.
To achieve these goals sustainably, DCYDE! offers an EU-wide Train-the-Trainer (TTT) programme. Its aim is to qualify you so that you can:
-
conduct national and regional trainings for multipliers, and
-
plan, implement, and facilitate your own educational activities and projects within the DCYDE! framework.
As an EU trainer, you will first be trained by international experts and then pass on your knowledge and methods in paid national trainings.
