Shock-responsive Social Protection - Lessons from the EU Thematic Programme - Improving Synergies between social protection and public finance management
UNICEF and GCSPF
Event details
Description
UNICEF and the Global Coalition for Social Protection Floors, both implementing partners that together with the ILO deliver on the EU funded programme 'Improving Synergies between Social Protection and Public Finance Management' (SP-PFM) are promoting a webinar on 29 September 2022 at 3pm CEST.

SP-PFM seeks to strengthen national social protection systems, including through improved linkages with public finance management and their increased financial sustainability. The Programme approach is to support countries to build universal social protection systems and ensure that these systems are risk-informed, resilient and adaptable to respond to shocks and facilitate transitions through evidence and analysis. In partner countries, building shock-responsive systems ranged from providing emergency cash transfers, convening key stakeholders through national workshops to set priorities and agenda for building shock-responsive systems, assessing the COVID-19 responses, and strengthening enhancing delivery mechanisms, including national social registries.
As part of its knowledge exchange and communications initiative, the Programme is organizing a series of webinars to learn from country experiences and contribute to the international debate on innovative solutions to increase financing for strengthening national social protection systems to achieve universal coverage for all. This webinar, second in a series, will present concrete experiences on innovative options for financing building adaptive, responsive and resilient social protection systems.
The webinar will start with a presentation that provides insight into the Programme’s approach to strengthening social protection systems and making them more resilient to shocks. This will be followed by country experiences.
