UNICEF, IFRC, FCDO
Event details
Description

This webinar will provide the opportunity to hear from humanitarian cash and social protection experts, as well as gaining a donor perspective, on the technical work that needs to be taken when identifying and developing approaches to transitioning from humanitarian cash to government social protection programmes. Led by the Cash and Livelihoods Consortium for Iraq (CLCI - comprised of the Danish Refugee Council, the International Rescue Committee, the Norwegian Refugee Council Oxfam, and Mercy Corps as lead) in partnership with the World Bank, the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and financially supported by FCDO, the experts will present the technical work undertaken to date – including analysing the overlap between government social protection targeting and humanitarian cash targeting – as well as the processes and preconditions for integration. The webinar will also highlight some of the challenges that have been faced.
In addition, the co-lead of the Iraq Cash Working Group (CWG) will provide a brief overview of how the work of the CLCI connects with the work of the CWG.
