Water and Energy Regional Thematic Seminar in Bridgetown, Barbados
Devco C5
Event details
Description
In the framework of operational guidance and taking into account the budget allocation to water and sanitation projects in the last programming periods, the water sector within Unit C5 has been organizing regional seminars for staff in EU Delegations and partner countries' staff involved in EU water related interventions with the aim to disseminate new policies and procedures, exchange best practices and draw lessons learnt from previous and current experience.
The regional seminar targeted the Latin America and Caribbean countries. As four countries in Latin America and four countries in the Caribbean have either water and/or energy as a focal sector, and given the new purpose of the Unit Devco C5, both sectors would be targeted in this seminar, under the umbrella of Climate Change.
In this context, the Bridgetown seminar purpose was to update Delegation's staff and partner countries on different water and energy related issues as well as reinforce the dialogue, communication and professional network in the Water and Sanitation sector among water focal points in EU delegations in the Caribbean and Latin America region, mainstreaming climate change and environment in development cooperation and the nexus water-agriculture-energy.
