What: Webinar“Gender equality and extremist religious fundamentalisms: which challenges? Which entry points?”
The objective of this webinars is to explore the intersecting nature of extremist religious fundamentalisms, and their impact on gender equality and human rights. The webinar intends to facilitate the understanding of religious fundamentalisms as a socio-political fact of our contemporaneity and to support development practitioners and humanitarian workers to detect and cope with the challenges, to identify useful entry points, and to design appropriate responses.
The webinar will comprise of a teaching session and two participatory sessions where participants will share their experiences, challenges, practices, and lessons learnt.
Section 1: Understanding religious fundamentalisms
This session will explore the most common terminology to define the phenomenon and the nexus between intersectionality, culture, tradition, and religions.
Section 2: Which challenges? Contributions from the participants
Participants will discuss the challenges of operating in contexts affected by religious fundamentalisms. Participants to prepare their inputs in advance in the form of brief written contribution (max 50 words) that will be sent at least three days before the date of the webinar.
Section 3: Which entry points? Contributions from the participants
Facilitators and participants will explore some entry points that may facilitate the identification of feasible and sustainable interventions for gender equality. Participants to prepare their inputs in advance in the form of brief written contribution (max 50 words) that will be sent at least three days before the date of the webinar.

The access is via BlackBoard Collaborate. If your PC is already migrated to Windows 10 you need to contact your helpdesk and install Mozilla Firefox V5 Java 8.162 (or you can do it yourself from the EC Store) and use it while opening the link to the webinar.
We kindly request you to pass these links also to your MS colleagues. Note that they should not register in EU Learn which is an internal tool. However, all the technical specifications to use Mozilla Firefox and Java apply to them as well if using Windows 10.
