The initiative forms part of the EU’s broader Global Gateway Strategy, launched in 2021 to support smart, green, secure, and inclusive development globally.
The programme focuses on:
- Strengthening public and private sector partnerships
- Supporting sustainable investment opportunities
- Improving trade and business linkages with Europe
- Building institutional and private sector capacity
- Promoting innovation, digital transformation, and green growth
The TA intends to :
- Organize Trade Missions & Study Tours: inbound and outbound missions between the EU, Guyana, and Suriname. These missions will expose stakeholders to EU best practices, technologies, and investment opportunities.
- Facilitate B2B Matchmaking: Connect Guyanese & Surinamese businesses with European companies for joint ventures, technology transfer, distribution partnerships, investment opportunities and knowledge exchange
- Support Policy & Institutional Development with feasibility studies, gap analyses, policy recommendations, regulatory support, investment framework development and public-private dialogue platforms
- Build Local Capacity by facilitating workshops, training programmes, business forums, technical exchanges, awareness campaigns and industry consultations
