DCYDE!
What is the project about?
DCYDE! is a Europe-wide project that brings global citizenship to life by connecting young people and educators from around the world in a digital space. The goal is to equip them with the tools and skills needed to actively contribute to global sustainable development within their respective communities. Online communication and digital media are not only symbols of global connectivity but also serve as the core element of the project.
Through innovative educational activities, transnational, location-independent learning communities are created: young people from Europe and the Global South are connected to collaborate on projects aimed at achieving the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In this way, the concept of global citizenship is seamlessly integrated into the everyday lives of the target groups. The project thus also reaches those who have had little or no conscious exposure to globalization or the values of global sustainable development. Through "youth-driven living labs," DCYDE! fosters behavioural change, social negotiation, intercultural competencies, and a deeper understanding of global interconnections. The project follows the principles of Global Citizenship Education (GCE) and combines global thinking with a "glocal" approach to action.
DCYDE! offers a wide range of opportunities to connect volunteers and professionals in both formal and non-formal education and youth work, while providing qualifications in the areas of Global Citizenship Education, discrimination sensitivity, and gender equality. Additionally, DCYDE! organizes educational activities where young people engage in a digital, global dialogue, developing intercultural competencies and driving behavioural change.
