Bangkok "Call to action" on Technical Cooperation for CD
This is the Declaration from the workshop on Technical Cooperation held in Bangkok on 15th September 2011.
The workshop was attended by representatives of 19 Asian countries.
It calls for accelerating the pace and scale of Technical Cooperation reforms, and for Busan HLF 4 on Aid Effectiveness to reinforce this issue.
An original aspect of Bangkok workshop declaration is to highlight that a new paradigm of Technical Cooperation is emerging. New technologies, free flow of information and the emergence of new actors on the global stage are facilitating innovative ways and means of knowledge transfer.
It also recognises that the Technical Cooperation initiatives must have built-in quality assurance mechanisms, which is one of the ambitions of the EC Technical Cooperation reform.
