Call for case studies of best practices on mainstreaming disability (for the UN Secretariat on the CPRD)
The General Assembly Resolution A/65/186 requested the Secretary-General to ‘provide information on best practices at international, regional, sub-regional and national levels for including persons with disabilities in all aspects of development efforts’.
To fulfil the request by the General Assembly, the Secretariat for the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (SCRPD) is asking governments, UN agencies, civil society organizations, including organizations of persons with disabilities, academics, institutions and any other relevant organizations to submit, by 14 October 2011, case studies on examples of best practices in mainstreaming disability.
This document is an excerpt from the Compilation of Best Practices in mainstreaming disability – work in progress which sets the criteria for selection of case studies and includes six ‘prototype case studies’ by way of example. Please see the Enable website http://www.un.org/disabilities/default.asp?id=1571#documents to access the full version of the document for more details.
