Call for Tenders: Independent Audit of Guyana Timber Legality Assurance System (GTLAS)
The Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) is inviting qualified service providers to submit proposals for the “Independent Audit of the Guyana Timber Legality Assurance System (GTLAS)” under the Guyana-EU FLEGT VPA.
The assignment aims to assess the operation, credibility, efficiency, and effectiveness of the GTLAS in accordance with Article 11 and Annex VI of the Guyana-EU FLEGT Voluntary Partnership Agreement (VPA). The selected Independent Auditor will evaluate the functionality of the legality assurance system, including the Wood Tracking System (WTS), verification procedures, institutional coordination mechanisms, and compliance monitoring processes across the timber supply chain.
The consultancy includes the development of a Manual of Procedures for the Independent Audit, implementation of audit exercises, identification of non-conformities and systemic risks, and formulation of recommendations for corrective actions to strengthen forest governance and timber legality verification in Guyana.
Proposals must be submitted electronically in English no later than 4 June 2026 at 23:59 hrs (Guyana Time).
