Forests are value.

We know that forests regulate the air we breathe, the water we drink, and foster biodiversity. What we don’t fully realize is the hidden value of well managed forests. Their impact on millions of livelihoods and jobs, their role for energy and food production, their function for health ingredients or construction, their value for ecotourism or even innovation, as substitutes of fossil-based fibres.

Promoting forest-based value chains is key to the EU approach to forests, reflected by the Forest Partnerships with partner countries across three continents.
