A presentation about the development of a sustainable cocoa sector in the Gola landscape, Sierra Leone. Beginning in 2015 with RSPB support, the sector now involves over 2 500 farmers grouped into 4 cooperatives. The farmers use sustainable agroforestry methods and their cocoa beans are certified Fairtrade and organic. Once harvested, the beans are processed for export, where they are transformed into chocolate which is marketed in Europe and the USA.
