What is the EU FAO FLEGT Programme?

The EU-FAO Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade Programme (EU FAO FLEGT Programme) is a four year initiative that started in May 2012, and is funded by the European Union (EU) and implemented by FAO. It is a follow on Programme to the ACP-FLEGT Support Programme. Its overall objective is to support the implementation of the Forest Law Enforcement and Governance Trade (FLEGT) Action Plan adopted by the EU in 2003.

Programme components:

1.Projects support to local stakeholder groups to put the EU FLEGT Action Plan into practice; and

2.Information services
