My name is Bruno MERIC. I am a French and European citizen, who has been working in the field of development for nearly 25 years, primarily in Africa and Europe. I have worked for various international NGOs (Enda, Essor, CARE, Entrepreneurs du Monde, IRC, Gret), with extended stays in Morocco, Mozambique, and Côte d'Ivoire, as well as several short-term assignments. I quickly specialized in Youth development, particularly through TVET, employment, entrepreneurship, civic engagement, and social economy. I really like leveraging my long field experience when working with ministries and international organizations.
Over the past decades, I have been engaged in various expert missions, mainly for the EU in Africa, dedicated to supporting national youth policies and European initiatives (Youth Sounding Boards, project design, TVET and employment programs). In France where I live, I am since 2020 an elected official in charge of EU and international relations, and I occasionally teach courses to students in social work, youth studies, and international cooperation.
On Capacity4Dev, I regularly look after best practices and reflections on my areas of expertise. I particularly enjoy learning by sharing experiences and ideas. I am convinced that better collaboration among development practitioners can enable international cooperation to adapt to new challenges.
