Senior forests advisor to international and national non-governmental organisations (NGOs), focusing on civil society oversight of forest governance systems and working mainly in Liberia and Ghana.
2004-2008: Responsible for Global Witness' development and promotion of Independent Forest Monitoring (IFM), an assessment tool for observation of and guidance on official forest law enforcement systems.
2008-2013: Project director for Global Witness' Making the Forest Sector Transparent, a project to increase access to information on forest sector activities; advocate for greater transparency and accountability; and support a network of civil society organisations working on forest governance Cameroon, DRC, Ecuador, Ghana, Guatemala, Liberia and Peru.
2013 to date: Independent consultant providing technical advice on civil society-led independent forest monitoring initiatives.
2016-2019: Team Leader at Global Witness, overseeing all work on Liberia, including organising a major community forestry conference, Rethinking Liberia’s Forests; researching Power to the People? a critique of Liberia’s community forestry system, and facilitating a major strategic review of all Global Witness’ forest work.
2019 to date: Deputy Campaign Director for Forests, Land and Environmental Defenders at Global Witness.
