From 2016 to 2023, Mariarosa Di Nubila, specialised in intercultural learning, was the co-developer and then the coordinator of the InterCultural Approach (InCA) programme, an European Commission’s DG INTPA initiative. Previously as Contract Agent and then as Expert in house, together with the expertise of senior EU colleagues and external experts, she led the process for co-designing all InCA activities such as : Intercultural Laboratories for Delegations, webinars and virtual workshops, “Cup of Tea” series podcasts, and anthropological-socio cultural lectures.
The scope of the InCA programme is to increase intercultural awareness and agility by European Institutions” staff. In particular for those ones who work in international partnership and external relations, the InCA activities provided a methodological support on how to:
· develop the capacity of the European and local staff in EU Delegations to work better together building on their cultural diversity as strategic resource,
· facilitate internal collaboration between Headquarters and EU Delegations;
· increase the quality of dialogue and cooperation with authorities and local partners;
· enhance the relevance, the impact and the results of EU policy, programmes and projects
After serval years as project and programme manager for worldwide private and public bodies, included the EU institutions, she now focuses her experience on developing creative methodological support for better managing cultural complexity and diversity in meaningful working environments, processes and international partnerships. In 2024 she has started a new role in charge of revising the Fundamental Training Package ICM through an intercultural lens to ensure that InCA experience will be widely shared within DG INTPA, DG NEAR and FPI colleagues in Headquarter or in EU Delegations.
