Zsolt Lengyel is a climate action pioneer, an economist by profession who has a unique combination of expertise of the governance and integration of climate - including UNFCCC & Paris Agreement - issues as a civil servant (for the Dutch Government’s seminal Carboncredits.nl programme), a consultant for the World Banks’ Prototype Carbon Fund, head of a UNFCCC accredited climate change mitigation auditing body (SQS - Swiss Association for Quality and Management Systems), founding member of Europe’s first EU emission trading system auditing cooperative (Verico SCE), founding chairman of the Institute for European Energy and Climate Policy (IEECP) now acting as is Secretary of the Board, and an assessor/audito at True&Fair.expert, Switzerland.
He has worked as Team Leader and Key Expert for multiple EU funded Technical Assistance interventions – such as the EU’s flagship 'Clima East' project between 2013-17 and the ongoing 'EU Climate Dialogues' (2022-24) and Horizon 2020 projects.
