Chilean Producers and Companies Receive Training on the EUDR in the Beef and Forestry Value Chains

Producers, companies and other stakeholders from Chile’s beef and forestry value chains will take part in a series of regional training workshops aimed at strengthening their capacity to meet the requirements of the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).

The initiative forms part of the technical assistance that AL-INVEST Verde, through Eurochile, provides to the Office of Agricultural Studies and Policies (Odepa) to strengthen institutional and sectoral capacities. Through this action, the programme seeks to support the adaptation of the beef and forestry value chains to the requirements established by European legislation.

The objective of the workshops is to raise awareness and provide training for producers, companies, industry organisations, associations and other stakeholders linked to the beef and forestry sectors on the challenges and opportunities arising from the implementation of the EUDR, particularly in relation to sustainability, traceability and access to international markets.

The workshops will be free of charge and delivered in person. Each session will combine technical presentations, practical exercises, and opportunities for discussion and consultation with national and international experts, enabling participants to gain an in-depth understanding of the regulation’s requirements and advance their preparedness for compliance.

The workshops will take place between 23 June and 2 July in Osorno, Valdivia, Temuco, Concepción, Talca, Rancagua and Santiago. Through these activities, Chile aims to strengthen more sustainable and traceable production systems, helping to consolidate the country’s position as a reliable and low-risk partner for international markets.

Preparing the beef and forestry value chains for these new regulatory requirements is a key step towards maintaining and enhancing the competitiveness of Chilean exports in the European market.
