The EU DEAR Calendar continues to highlight the top DEAR project events, calls for applications, contests and trainings, as well as other Global Citizenship Education (GCE) activities.

Learn about and share information about DEAR project Calls for Proposals (via sub-granting) with your network: 

1. Funding to counter Racism - deadline of 18 May: EU DEAR project “Tackle” launched a call to fund concrete actions to counter racial discrimination, islamophobia, post-colonial inequalities, hate speech and racial profiling. 

    

2. Funding for Global Citizen Education in Bosnia & Herzegovina - deadline of 15 May.

   Keep an eye on the calendar for upcoming calls in other Western Balkan countries - all launched by the EU DEAR project "GEAR UP!".  

3. Funding for youth-led work for social, gender and environmental justice - deadline of 30 June: 

   Across Europe and the Mediterranean, youth movements, collectives and community initiatives working for social justice, environmental sustainability, and gender equity are invited to apply for “YOU(th)CARE” DEAR sub-funding. Youth-led groups will be supported to develop strategies to confront local and global crises. They will receive funding and mentoring for community-led solutions for social and ecological transformation, as well as radical storytelling, advocacy, and mobilization campaigns. 

Opportunities are not limited to those offered by DEAR Projects. See the upcoming 24 April deadline for the Photo Contest of the “Youth Democracy Cohort”. For those interested in academic developments around GCE and addressing contemporary and pressing social issues, in an educational and pedagogical perspective, don’t forget to sign up for the biennial international conference of ANGEL in Berlin, on 4-6 June.

EU DEAR projects can now post news directly - as can all members of the EU DEAR Programme Group. Please join the dedicated community, and you can also share the information you would like to disseminate. As a member, you will be able to post events, resources and questions for discussion. 

For example, you can post about education activities for global digital and dialogical citizenship, such as the DCYDE event in Vienna. Please note that you can view and also update past events you published - with results, quotes and more. This can serve as inspiration for readers when searching for speakers, topics and for your own reporting.
